Karen Vázquez Guadarrama was born in Mexico and now lives in Ghent. Her films are built on simple narratives, highlighting insignificant day-to-day events, the little things in life.
But with great attention to emotions and details. There is nothing bigger than the little things.
In 2015 “Flor de Mil Colores” was awarded Best Belgian Student Short at the Ghent Film Festival. She also won the VAF-Wildcard (Flanders Audiovisual Fund) in Louvain.
She then crossed the ocean to showcase her documentary at the Sundance Film Festival.
Karen has just finished her first feature documentary “When the bull cried”.
